In a league all her own, Tashayla says proudly and with assertion, “I am a goal hunter.” She makes the job of being a case manager seem effortless, acting as an effective liaison between clients and lawyers.
Tashayla has put some powerful notes in her accomplishment playlist. She is an active member of several notable professional organizations including the National Association of Colored Women’s club, founded by Ida B. Wells, and the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. She is paving some impressive footsteps – perhaps it is aided by the 6 inch stilettos she says she even wears to the market. (In our best Maybelline commercial voice – Maybe she’s born with it.)
Emerging from a tight-knit family, and a single parent household, she is labeled as the nerd of the family by her siblings. She knew from as early as 8th grade she wanted to become a lawyer. Her daily life consists of pursuing her Master’s of Law Degree, serving her community, and of course weaving her magic for our law firm.
When Tashayla isn’t working or studying, she is dancing her heart out. She is a trained dancer in contemporary jazz, and hip hop and teaches dance every Sunday locally.
She aspires to travel more, specifically to the Dominican Republic, and she wouldn’t mind one bit if her TV crush, Joseph Morgan from the show the Originals, happened to be sitting next to her on the plane ride over. The only thing that could ruin that dream is a spider sighting. (She admits to having an unnatural fear of spiders.) Our firm makes sure the local pest control is always on speed dial. 😊
When asked what was on her favorite book list, she didn’t hesitate. She spoke about the book, The Right of Others by Fila Habib. We find this selection to be rather telling of her chosen career path and why we value her presence so much. It wouldn’t be a stretch to predict seeing Tashayla on a list of people to watch for in the future – too bright even for the best sunglasses! We adore you and can’t wait for line dancing Mondays to start at the firm when Covid finally lets us have some fun again!
