Pedestrian Injured in Two-Taxi Accident

A 21-year-old woman was injured after two taxis crashed near DePaul University’s Lincoln Park campus on January 11, 2012.  The accident occurred in the early morning when a Toyota Prius cab ran a red light at the intersection of Fullerton Avenue and Ashland Avenue.  The Prius hit a second cab headed in the opposite direction, which crashed into a liquor store, hitting the pedestrian in the process.  The woman was reported to be in stable but serious condition at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.  The driver of the second cab and the passenger of the first cab were also treated for injuries.  The Prius driver, Kakajan Islamov, 27, was cited for the accident.
