What is Meconium?
Meconium is a mucus-like black substance that is contained in the stomach of the unborn child, and is slated to be released once they are birthed. Put simply, meconium is a form of immature excretory matter that cannot be released when the baby is in the womb as it contains bacteria that can be lethal to both the baby and the mother.
How Serious is Meconium Aspiration?
Meconium aspiration syndrome refers to a condition which causes the baby to release this excretory matter due to fetal distress during labor on account of its intestines contracting and anal sphincter relaxing.

Lawsuit for Meconium Aspiration Syndrome – Call Us Today!
Meconium aspiration syndrome can be dangerous given its propensity to cut off oxygen supply to the brain. This can cause the death of brain cells, leading to the baby developing cerebral palsy shortly after birth. It’s the doctor’s responsibility to make sure that this doesn’t happen, and should they fail in their duty to you, you have all the right to file a lawsuit to recover money damages.
