Carla is one of our excellent case managers. She keeps up with our clients and their medical treatments while partnering with the insurance companies to ensure everything is moving forward appropriately. She enjoys being a part of our team because every day at work is different. With such a friendly and supportive group of coworkers, this makes coming into work fun and rewarding.
Carla brings extensive work experience to our practice. She actually started working at a law firm about a week after she graduated from high school. She loved the overall vibe of the office, as it was in downtown Chicago and gave her a glimpse into the kind of lifestyle she wanted to have. She soon left to study Psychology at Northern Illinois University and worked in the financial aid office there, gaining valuable experience in creating positive outcomes for clients. She then began a masters in Industrial Organizational Psychology, a field devoted to creating positive working environments, which is Carla’s passion.
She moved to California to work in the hotel industry, then back to Chicago to work at the Social Security office, but really missed the environment of the law firm and financial aid office. She enjoys getting to know her clients and sticking with them until she can reach a resolution, so she left Social Security to join us instead. We are proud to have her on our team.
Carla is a Chicago native and is a true local to our office as well, having grown up nearby in Blue Island. She met her husband while living in California and the couple has a beautiful daughter. She really values family time and wants to make sure her daughter gets to experience the best of Chicago as she grows up because Carla is a huge fan. She loves to spend time just walking around downtown, popping into local museums, and eating at all of her favorite restaurants.
She is always happy to recommend a great place to eat. Carla says the Pilsen neighborhood has some of the best eateries in the city, including a great place called Sky. If you need any book recommendations, Carla is also your girl! She loves sweet romances with happy endings, which contrasts with her taste in reality TV, which she prefers to be as drama-filled as possible a lá Keeping Up With The Kardashians and Selling Sunset.
Finally, the quickest way to Carla’s heart is through houseplants. She loves them and can never get enough (if any of her coworkers are reading this – they make great gifts).
