Fusing art and science is my inspiration. I am an award-winning retired science teacher turned award–winning glass artist. I approach glass the same way that I approach teaching. Hands on experimentation. I am self–taught and have continually strived through controlled experimentation to make new and unique kiln formed glass pieces. The technique that I developed allows me to make my own sheet glass with which to design my creations. Retiring from the classroom has allowed me to pursue my glass passion full time and I am loving every minute of it.
A Kirk Miller glass standing sculpture is a mesmerizing fusion of artistry and craftsmanship, showcasing his unparalleled ability to manipulate glass into captivating forms. Standing tall, the sculpture exudes an air of elegance and modernity, often featuring flowing lines and dynamic shapes that seem to defy the rigidity of the medium. Miller’s use of vibrant colors, intricate layering, and translucent textures creates a play of light and shadow that transforms the sculpture as the viewer moves around it. The interplay of bold, abstract designs with delicate, precise details reflects his mastery of balance and form. Each piece is a celebration of movement and emotion, inviting onlookers to interpret its fluid beauty in their own unique way. A Kirk Miller standing sculpture is not just a work of art—it is an enduring testament to the transformative potential of glass.
