Garrett Keener is a law clerk in our Indianapolis office. He supports the firm across all stages of a case, from pre-litigation through settlement and litigation. He assists with negotiations, drafting demands, managing discovery, and preparing motions when needed, including summary judgment work. Garrett has quickly become a helpful team member, stepping in wherever he’s needed and gaining practical experience while learning about personal injury law.
Before joining our team, Garrett worked at a law firm that specialized in services for older adults. He handled cases related to managing trusts and planning for estates. During that time, he also volunteered at a community clinic that helps vulnerable seniors, which gave him valuable experience in advocating for clients and serving the community. He further expanded his skills through an internship with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, where he worked on a variety of cases, including criminal and civil matters. This experience improved his ability to think quickly and boosted his research and writing skills.
Garrett is currently earning his law degree from Indiana University McKinney School of Law. He completed his undergraduate studies at IU East in Richmond, earning a business degree with a minor in entrepreneurship. Prior to law school, Garrett spent five years working in fabrication engineering, bringing a practical, problem-solving mindset to his legal work. After taking a gap year, he found his path into law the old-fashioned way—walking into firms with résumés in hand—and helped the first position he landed work through a significant case backlog. Today, he brings that same initiative, adaptability, and work ethic to every case he touches.
When he’s not working, you can find him running, rollerblading, and going to jazz clubs. We are proud to have Garret on board, as he believes the law is a public service, and helping people is good work.
