Three-Car Accident Kills One and Injures Three

After a three-car crash on the Tri-State Tollway, one man was pronounced dead and three others were injured.

The accident occurred at 6:47 on 3 February 2013 between a taxi, a Chrysler Sebring, and a tow truck.

The driver of the Sebring, a 39-year-old man, was pronounced dead on the scene. Police said that the Sebring and the tow truck were driving east on the tollway in Deerfield when the Sebring and the tow truck collided, causing both vehicles to pull over onto the shoulder.

The tow truck driver then exited his vehicle, and was struck by the taxi that was driving past. The taxi then collided with the rear of the Sebring, killing the driver of the Sebring. The taxi had a passenger.

The taxi driver, the passenger, and the tow truck driver were all transported with non-life threatening injuries to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
