Far South Side Car Crash Kills One, Injures Two

One was killed and two were hospitalized after a car wreck on the Dan Ryan Expressway on Chicago’s Far South Side.

The accident took place at 2:15PM on 3 February 2013. The identities of those involved in the crash have been withheld until the families have been notified.

Chicago police said that the accident occurred after one car was pulled over for a traffic violation. While the vehicle was pulled over, another car driven by a 70-year-old man struck the first vehicle, killing one person in the parked car.

Police did not think alcohol was to blame for the 70-year-old driver’s loss of control, and the man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The two passengers of the parked car were taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook Country.
