Charities We Support – The John McNicholas Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation

At McCready, Garcia & Leet, we feel it is important to give back to the community.  After all, without the community, we would be nothing.  Each month we highlight an organization or group which we support, with time or money, and we encourage you to do the same. We support a wide range of groups throughout the year, some national in scope, others may involve a fundraiser for an individual in need.  We encourage you to visit these organizations and join McCready, Garcia & Leet in donating.

Though John McNicholas only lived 15 years, he lived with gusto and often said, “I can either be sad or live my life and hope things work out.” His life’s credo, filled with grace and strength, is something we admire at McCready, Garcia & Leet, and we hope you will join us in supporting the John McNicholas Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation to push for advancements in care and treatment of young brain tumor victims. Since the cure rate for most brain cancers is significantly lower than that for many other types of pediatric cancer, John’s parents were inspired by his brave spirit to start this foundation. Juvenile brain tumors require specific research and different treatments. At this time, brain cancer research is grossly under funded and the public remains unaware of the magnitude of this disease. Money has already gone toward helping to create much-needed distractions for children with brain tumors who are often hospitalized for months out of every year. Now, they’ve put together a multidisciplinary medical advisory board to help guide them in identifying and funding specifically targeted pediatric brain tumor research and treatment options to achieve their ultimate goal: the eradication of pediatric brain tumors.
