The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation honors the lives of Chicago police officers killed or catastrophically injured in the line of duty. There have been 562 Chicago police officers who have sacrificed their lives for the City of Chicago. The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation has built a permanent memorial just east of Soldier Field on Chicago’s lakefront.
