Wrong Way Driving Accident Injures Several

A 42-year-old woman was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital after driving the wrong way down Lake Shore Drive, causing a four-car collision that injured several people. Police said Friday, February 22nd, 2013 the woman turned southbound into the northbound lanes of the road. The woman’s Toyota Corolla collided with two Volkswagon Jetta’s.

One of the Jetta’s went on to strike a Ford Contour that was parked on the side of the road. The woman driving the Corolla and the driver of one of the Jetta’s sustained non life-threatening injuries in the incident. The driver and a passenger in the other Jetta were also taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital with more serious injuries, but their conditions were stabilized.
