John is one of our bookkeepers. He oversees our monetary operations with precision and attention to detail. He keeps the company financials up-to-date in our system, while also managing client payments, case disbursements, and payroll. However, John’s role is not limited to just numbers, as he also provides financial insights to facilitate accurate decision-making for Mr. McCready and the team.
John is an economist with a strong financial background. He is a master of Quickbooks, holding the QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certificate from Intuit. He also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and International Business from ICESI University, an AACSB-accredited institution. His university is positioned as one of the top business schools in Latin America and the world.
Outside of work, John enjoys going to the movies, walking his family’s dog Ritter, and finding inspiration in George Soros’ contrarian approach to finance. “Find a trend whose premise is false, and bet your money against it,” is a quote that greatly interests John, as he enjoys keeping up with global financial forecasts and trends
John lives in Cali, Colombia, the third largest city in his country. He is fluent in both English and Spanish and also studied Mandarin Chinese for 5 years in high school. These days, he is learning Yiddish with Duolingo. He took his inspiration from his former employer — a New Yorker who taught him the basics of QuickBooks and real estate managerial accounting from scratch. Due to his busy work schedule, John can only study on the weekends, so if you’ve ever been threatened by the app for missing a daily lesson, he knows your pain.
